After more than four decades of successful racing, Honda has learned that there's more to winning than going fast.
Handling, durability, reliability and even driving comfort all play integral roles.
The Accord Coupe is a direct beneficiary of this thinking. The 3.0-liter V-6 engine produces an impressive 240-horsepower and is available with a close-ratio, 6-speed manual transmission to make the most of any road. The new, 2.4-liter, i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine yields 160 horsepower with 161 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,500 rpm. Both engines are equipped with a 4-valve-per-cylinder configuration to draw more air and fuel. Lightweight, all-aluminum engine blocks, heads and pistons achieve greater performance. A 0.29 drag coefficient means that the Accord Coupe slips through the air stream for better fuel efficiency and reduced wind noise. And the variable valve timing and lift electronic control system (VTEC®), which is found in both engines, is designed to boost low-end torque and high-end power.

The Accord is designed to deliver top performance without sacrificing interior ride comfort. Both engines feature new vibration-damping engine mounts to help reduce the transfer of engine vibrations into the passenger compartment.
Four-valve-per-cylinder combustion chambers in the V-6 and 4-cylinder engines improve combustion efficiency and performance.
The advanced 4-wheel double wishbone suspension offers an ideal balance between ride comfort and handling.
i-VTEC® enhances the effect of VTEC® on Accord's 4-cylinder engine by adding variable timing control, or VTC.
ABS, standard on all Accords, plus four-wheel disc brakes on EX and V-6 models, offer smooth and efficient braking power, even with heavy and repeated use.
Unique white-on-black, progressively self-illuminating gauges provide three distinct levels of illumination designed to deliver clear information on vehicle systems and status.
EX models with Leather and EX V-6 models offer dual-zone automatic climate control, allowing both front seat passengers to select the temperature that is right for them.
The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ with voice activation offers 240 voice-activated commands, with over 200 devoted to navigation, such as: "display map," "display menu," "previous destination," "find nearest ATM."
Pressing the button once unlocks the driver's door. Pressing it again unlocks all the doors. Holding the button down for more than one second rolls down the windows. If you release the switch at any time, it will stop the windows. Also, the key cylinder on the driver's door performs the same functions, both the locks and the windows. Plus, you can close all the windows by turning the key in the opposite direction. For LX and EX models, the remote-entry key fob is now built right into the key.
In addition to two built-in beverage holders, the lid for the storage compartment serves as a handy armrest, and it can extend forward over three inches to accommodate drivers of different statures. The console offers an upper and lower storage compartment. The upper section features a coin holder and can hold a mobile phone, while the lower section has a 12-volt outlet and special hooks to hold the phone's power cord.
EX and EX V-6 models with automatic transmissions feature 16" alloy wheels as standard equipment. The EX V-6 with 6-speed manual transmission features exclusive 17" alloy wheels.
All V-6 models and EX models with leather have an 8-way power driver's seat. The front seats on the Coupe are 20 inches wide and offer numerous adjustments. The seat-cushion angle and contour provide more thigh support. A manual seat-height adjustment with separate front and rear adjusters is standard on LX models. A driver's seat with 2-way power height-adjustment is standard on 4-cylinder EX models.
For audio entertainment, LX models offer an AM/FM/CD audio system with six speakers. EX and V-6 models upgrade to a 6-disc in-dash CD changer. And the EX V-6 with 6-speed manual transmission upgrades to a 180-watt premium AM/FM/6-disc in-dash CD changer audio system. Also included as standard equipment on EX V-6 and EX with Leather is XM® Satellite Radio,* which produces near-CD-quality sound with no static.
